Funny Story...

Hello People of the Internet,

So a few weeks ago I told you I had absolutely no excuse not to write on here and yet I haven't written anything for several weeks so sorry about that.
Anyway so this week was mental and the title refers to the fun I had on Tuesday night and that is both meant in terms of sarcasm and not. I went paddle boarding and kayaking with a group of guides and it was really fun. Paddle boarding was about as hard as I expected it to be when I realised that that was what we were doing. So we paddles around on these large foam boards which are I imagine not dissimilar from surfboards and from that comment you can probably tell that I'm not a surfer although I would like to learn. I told my mum that and she laughed and pointed out you had to be able to balance to surf.

Anyway we got on to standing up and I stood up and promptly fell off again. I'd like to say that only happened once but it must have happened at least four times so it's safe to say I was drenched but in a good way. It was a really peaceful and once you got the hang of it it was fairly simple and I really enjoyed that part. Then we went kayaking, I have been kayaking so many times and its fun but when you're doing the same thing each time it does get a little repetitive. But it was fun and yet again I ended up in the water. Now my insulin pump is waterproof  I've worn it sailing and in the shower and it's been fine. However I capsized came up for air and it was gone...
It hadn't even ripped the site out of my skin which is fairly standard if it's got very wet but the plastic connection had come apart. Now for me that was very unusual as I had had my pump hang off my body, not recommended tends to hurt a bit, and again had no problem with it.

Where we were kayaking wasn't exactly a nice shallow place the lake is about five metres deep and unless you have specialist diving equipment you're not getting it back as I was ever so cheerfully informed by the instructor who made me want to punch him as he grinned at me.

So yeah I manage to lose the most expensive thing I have ever owned and so followed a few days of insurance phone calls going back and forth but it's now sorted and apart from a lecture from my parents I've been incredibly lucky to be able to replace it.The message is kids wear suitable attachments when doing  water sports with an expensive piece of kit like that.
